VISUAL DIARY: LAKAWON, SAGAY, BACOLOD

This may have just been the most unplanned summer getaway yet. Booking accommodations hours before check-in, que-sera-sera commutes from one city to another, suddenly hopping to Iloilo for a day trip, solely relying on listicles for where to eat for the next meal, a tornado over the sea (I know, right?), etc.

It was the complete opposite of our Taiwan trip (will post a visual diary for that soon) where we had everything listed down to the last dollar of MRT rides, but the amount of fun is just the same!

VISUAL DIARY: EL NIDO, PALAWAN

My high school friends and I traveled to El Nido in Palawan for the summer! It’s still as beautiful and majestic as I remember it from about three years ago. I had so much fun, I don’t regret having sunburns all over my body! (I’m crazy over skincare now, though, since I’m peeling all over the place and my skin tone is so uneven, haha. Maybe I can make a separate post for that, hmm.)

Here are some of the photos I took. Going through my travel pictures from before until now, I realized I’m not so much into landscape; I tend to capture details from a certain angle so I don’t know if I’m doing justice to El Nido’s beauty (prolly not), but here’s a visual diary anyway. Enjoy!

BEACHBORN GOODIES + FIRST IMPRESSIONS (REVIEW)

I’ve recently (and finally!) made purchases from the local hair and skin care brand, Beachborn! After reading a lot of good reviews about their products, and since I’ve been all for natural ingredients whenever I can get them, I decided to give their offers a go. You can find their catalog on the link above or on their Instagram page here.

Before moving onto what I bought, let me put on record how smooth and fast I was able to transact with them. I was on my way to the bank when I sent them a message on Viber asking if I could order there instead, as I was kind of in a jiffy. I wasn’t even able to send a proper order form but they accommodated me just as well! I paid on a Monday, got my orders on Wednesday.

It’s been almost a week, and here are my first impressions on the goodies I bought! Listing them down from my least favorite to my most loved!

PALETTES FOR 2017’S COLOR OF THE YEAR

When Pantone released its color of the year for 2017, the company brought attention to the rejuvenation the world needed amongst the unfavorable political and social climate of the previous year. Greenery, a “fresh and zesty yellow-green shade” reflects the birth of nature’s greens in the early days of spring season. The color is a call back to the comfort of nature, as it evokes a sense of reinvigoration. A color for restoration and revival, having this in your home or even in a commercial zone, will surely bring in the relaxing outdoors into your space. And what better way to incorporate this color than to look at the earth’s inherent beauty for inspiration? Here are some Greenery color schemes reimagined from nature:

COLD SHOULDER

It was Hat Day, that day. We hit the road bound for the (developed) mountains for some relaxation, catching up and bonding in the form of a mini photoshoot. What we didn’t expect was the wind constantly blowing so strong, we barely had any decent photos because we kept chasing our hats flying off our heads. Either that, or our hair kept ending up on our faces. Fun times!
